 The exact details of the inn have been lost down the ages but the thirteenth century building was originally constructed to house the workers who built the church opposite.

Wassail
We recently took part in a re-enactment of our traditional wassail for the BBC as a part of their program 'Oz and Hugh Drink To Christmas' with Oz Clarke and Hugh Dennis which was shown on 20th, 25th and 30th December 2009.  As well as scenes inside the Ostrich, the Isca Morrismen were also filmed dancing outside and at the end of the program Oz Clarke declared the Wassail Cider the most traditional Christmas drink in the UK and the Ostrich Inn itself a 'little gem'.

Our next Wassail was to have been on the evening of Saturday 9th January 2010 but unfortunately, as a result of the extreme cold and dangerous conditions on many roads, this year's wassail planned for the 9th January had to be cancelled, so come and experience a real wassail again in January next year.
